The Author
Hafiz Muhammad Abdul Karim was born into a respected religious Mughal family, which came from Ghazni, Afghanistan. His great, great grandfather had settled in Rawalpindi. Hafiz Abdul Karim affectionately known as Hafiz Jee among his followers was born on 11th April 1848 in Rawalpindi. Hafiz Jee led a pious, frugal, and simple lifestyle abstaining from worldly pleasures. Zuhd or renunciation of worldly pleasures was also a feature of Muhammadan life, he used to say
